Online registration and forms

Online registration

To apply for registration as a physiotherapist you will need to complete an online application.

Please note that our online form only supports the following applicants at this time:

  • Internationally qualified physiotherapists who hold an Australian Physiotherapy Council Certificate of Substantial Equivalence applying for general registration
  • Australian physiotherapy graduates who obtained their qualification over 12 months ago applying for general registration
  • Previously held registration in Australia before July 2010 and reapplying for general registration 
  • Previously held general registration as a physiotherapist in Australia and applying for non-practising registration
  • Currently hold physiotherapy registration in New Zealand and applying for registration in Australia under the provisions of the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Act  

If you currently hold general registration as a physiotherapist and wish to apply for non-practising registration, you will need to apply using the paper form.

If you are an Australian graduate and have completed your course within the last 12 months, or are due to complete an approved program of study within the next six (6) weeks, refer to our graduate online application form.

If the reason you are applying is not listed above, you will be required to complete a paper application form as we continue to develop our online application.

To apply for registration:

  1. Go online to create your online account
  2. Complete your application and make payment
  3. Print your Application checklist
  4. Post your Application checklist and supporting documents to AHPRA

Once your Application checklist and supporting documents are received, your application will be assessed. AHPRA will contact you if further information is required and/or to confirm your registration. Further information about the registration process is available on the AHPRA website.
